From Dec 26 through Jan 1 I operated in daily discomfort - I hosted an art workshop every morning, with people around the world on zoom, using art mediums THAT I KNOW VIRTUALLY NOTHING ABOUT, except for the last day, when we made something I normally play with. I would watch a couple of YouTube instructional videos the night before.

People liked my “let’s just see what happens” approach, “this is art, we’re just playing here,” and not judging myself on the outcomes.

It was somehow liberating - we couldn’t fail.

And people kept coming back.

And it opened new vistas for me.

And validated that, if your gift is teaching, you don’t need to be an expert at something to teach it.

Open-mindedness and humility were very helpful. I talked through my feelings on each one, and my appreciation for people who master these mediums, and I laughed.

And 35 of those people are now following me. This opened up something in them, too.

Life is good.
